Petra Janjic Memorial Golf Tournament 2025

The 2025 Petra Janjic Memorial Golf Tournament is now in the books.

We’re still riding high from an incredible day on the course - and at Jersey's Bar & Grill - and it’s all thanks to you.

Whether you golfed, sponsored, donated, volunteered, or cheered us on, you helped make this year’s Petra Janjic Memorial Golf Tournament (www.puttingforpetra.com) a huge success.

We’re thrilled to share that we didn’t just hit our fundraising goal—we beat it. Together, we raised $55,000 in support of the Petra Janjic Scholarship Fund. (We had announced $52,500 at the event, but a few last-minute gifts pushed us even higher—amazing!)

This year’s Petra Janjic Memorial Scholarship winner is Jack Denis, a Saltfleet High School graduate who will be attending the University of Toronto this fall. Jack embodies the spirit of curiosity, kindness, and academic drive that Petra was known for, and we’re proud to support his next chapter.

All proceeds from the Petra Janjic Memorial Golf Tournament go to fund the Petra Janjic Memorial Scholarship - a significant financial award for a graduating HDSB student - managed and administered by the Hamilton Foundation for Student Success (HFSS), a registered charity.

We also want to recognize and celebrate Cari Gangaram, whose incredible commitment to Petra's legacy continues to make a lasting impact. Cari completes an annual 50 km walk to raise funds for the Petra Janjic Memorial Scholarship, and her dedication continues to inspire us all.  Over the past two year's Cari's fundraising efforts have raised over $12,000!

We also want to extend our heartfelt thanks to the many companies and local businesses who donated so generously - the full roster appears at the bottom of this email. Your contributions—whether through sponsorship, prize donations, or silent auction items—played a huge role in the success of this event. Your community spirit and support mean the world to us, and we are so grateful for your partnership in helping keep Petra’s memory and impact alive.  A very special shoutout goes to Doane Grant Thornton, who has proudly served as our Presenting Sponsor for both years of the tournament’s existence.

Also, a massive thank you to Jersey's Bar & Grill for their hosting of this year's post-golf reception, which was the perfect venue for our event.
